REVIVUS Reaches Addicted Kids
June 8, 2016
Simi Valley, CA (K-LOVE News) by Billie Branham
Every year Revivus throws its own free summer concert in the Los Angeles-area with big names in Christian music who take the stage to share how they came to faith in Jesus. The couple talks to the kids, prays with them and Chad says they also distribute information about making sober choices. “My pastor Joe Schimmel at Blessed Hope Chapel and myself have created different (spiritual) tracts regarding different drugs, such as heroin or ecstasy.” (Listen here to what will air Sunday, June 12 on Air1 and KLOVE.)
He’s an ex-addict. She’s a life-long Christian. Revivus Ministry co-founders are husband-wife team Chad and Holly Davidson. The two look for places to connect with young adults mired in addiction on the street or at concerts, really any “…events where we know there’s gonna be high-levels of drug use.” They’re so hands-on that they give out their personal cell numbers so anyone can ask for help at any hour of any day.
K-LOVE’s Billie Branham caught up with Chad about the Revivus mission and methods. Listen here.

The hand drawn picture that you see here is not only amazing because of the artwork, but also because of the person who drew it. The man behind the piece of art is Victor Ortiz. Victor is a wonderful man of God who has recently had Jesus completely transform his life. Victor, like myself, was entangled in the sin of drunkenness, until God got a hold of him. Victor is a part of Ventura County Rescue Mission, which is a Christian based rehab in Southern California. I have been teaching there over the last 9 months and have gotten to know Victor very well. He has even made a 3D version of David and Goliath for my 3 year old. Victor is one of the awesome men who I have had a chance to see transformed through the regeneration and sanctification of the Holy Spirit. Please pray for those in the program and that God will lead others to come and be transformed by the saving power of Jesus Christ!
There are so many times that I hear “Christianity has a bunch of rules, and I just want to be free to do what I want!” But what I would like to ask you is this: just how free are you? Many of my friends (and myself I might add) have had to learn the hard way. Being “free” isn’t as free as it sounds. Jesus even warned in John 8:34 that “everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.” So is this true? Are you really a slave to your sin?
For anyone who has ever used drugs or alcohol, it is an easy question to answer. How free do you feel when you are too drunk to drive your car? How free do you feel when you are so hooked on a drug you can’t go a day without using it? How free do you feel when you can’t even eek out an intelligent sentence because you are way to wasted? Your free choices have now freely put you right into your own prison. (more…)
Revivus and Blessed Hope Chapel Present: A Night of Worship

Fourteen years ago today thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror. To date, this tragedy is considered to have the greatest loss of police and firefighters in our country’s history. With almost 3,000 people passing away from the events that occurred, it is most certainly a memory that will be burned into the minds of those who were cognitive enough to understand what was happening on that day.
