Happy Resurrection Day!
The team at Revivus wants to wish everyone a happy resurrection Sunday!
The apostle Paul said that the resurrection is the linchpin of all of Christianity. As he stated in 1 Corinthians 15:14 “if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain”. Paul was a man who left behind a life of luxury, the life of a leading 1st century Jewish Pharisee. He did not leave it behind because he was now going to live a life free of trouble, trusting in Christ would only bring him problems in this life. The man was beaten on numerous occasions, even beaten so badly that he was left outside of a town thought to be dead. The life that he had before coming to know Christ could have been paralleled with the life of many modern day celebrities. But he left all of it behind because he knew that Christ had risen from the dead and that He would one day raise him to be with Him!
This same God who raised Jesus did so that we can know He is truly the savior. When we look back in history we can see that many religious figures made many different claims, but only one came back to prove them. While Buddha, Muhammed and Mahatmah Gandhi may bring a different philosophy into your life, there is only one person who death could not keep. There is only one person who cannot only help you to make better decisions, but can literally and spiritually make you an entirely new creation. There is only one person throughout all of history who has proven to have the power. Jesus Christ, the Risen King!
